Le Centre-ville (town centre)
The long shopping street, Rue d'Antibes, running parallel to the shore-hugging Boulevard de la Croisette is brimming with fashion boutiques with something to suit all tastes and budgets. Rue Meynadier is a bustling street with a market atmosphere and local stores including clothes and several food shops. At Marche Forville (Forville Market), locally grown flowers and fruit and vegetables are available.
Le Vieux Port & Le Suquet
Just beyond the Palais des Festivals is the atmospheric Vieux Port with its luxury boats , rows of palm trees, and the fragrant flower market of the Allees de la Liberte.
The old port and adjoining Suquet district are the most picturesque parts of town, taking you back in time. Wander among the labyrinth of back streets, quaint passageways and pretty little squares as they are deliciously cool retreats in the summer heat. Climb the streets to reach the top of the Suquet hill, from where you can take in a breathtaking panorama of Cannes and the surrounding area.
Boulevard de la Croisette
The long, shop-studded stretch of La Croisette is Cannes' central attraction and a visit to Cannes is not complete without a stroll along the elegant promenade stetching alongside the beautiful golden beach. The town side is largely devoted to Five Star hotels, chic restaurants and luxury fashion boutiques such as Christian Lacroix, Hermes, Dior & Chanel. During the International Film Festival, stars and millionaires, who pose in restaurants and along the expensive private beaches of La Croisette, become a major attraction. At the end of La Croisette is the Palais des Festivals, outside you will find the Allees des Stars - imprinted with handprints and signatures of the famous.
